The Event – 3 Peaks Challenge

What is the 3 Peaks Challenge?

There is nearly half a century of tradition involved with the challenge and lots of variations in style. The typical challenge involves climbing

 

  • Ben Nevis, Scotland's biggest mountain at 1344 meters.

  • Scafell Pike England's biggest mountain at 978 meters.

  • Snowdon, the biggest mountain in Wales at 1085 meters.

 

To complete the classic 24 hour challenge you must start at the foot of Ben Nevis and finish at the foot of Snowdon having reached all three summits.

 

Typical Itinerary

  • 12 noon pick up at Glasgow International Airport / Central Train Station or nearby hotel.

  • 14.30 Arrive at Ben Nevis and shop for food and any last minute equipment.

  • 15.30 Begin the challenge on Ben Nevis.

  • 20.30 Finish Ben Nevis and set off for Scafell Pike.

  • 02.30 Start Scafell Pike.

  • 06.30 Finish Scafell Pike and drive to Snowdon.

  • 11.30 Arrive Snowdon and begin the climb.

  • 15.30 Finish Snowdon.

  • 18.30 Drop off at Chester / Crewe station or nearby hotel.

We would like to thank everyone for their generous donations which have made this event possible and raised a significant sum for three very worthy causes.
 
We would also like to thank Liz, Marius, Paul, Dawn, Michael and Simon for giving up their weekend and enduring an extremely tough 24 hours to complete the challenge, your are very special people!

We are delighted to tell you the final total raised from the event is £1,841.48. This money will be divided equally between the Children Establishment Radauti, Focus Ireland, and Macmillan.

We are currently planning more events so if you would like to get involved or have an  idea how you would like to raise money for the Foundation please speak to one of the trustees.
